Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team, primarily responsible for the analysis, engineering, monitoring, and implementation of Storage Systems. The successful candidate will collaborate on Systems Engineering projects with diverse technical requirements, ensuring the highest level of system performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for:
1. Day-to-Day Operations: Manage IT storage functions, including storage allocation, network file system management, data replication, backup and restore operations, disk usage tracking, and performance issue resolution for UNIX, Linux, and Windows hosts.
2. Enterprise Storage Infrastructure Management: Set up, administer, support, and troubleshoot enterprise storage infrastructure, including Dell Data Domain, Isilon, Pure Storage flash array, ECS midrange arrays, Brocade fiber switches/directors, Commvault, Avamar, Networker, and storage software/applications.
3. Documentation and Configuration Management: Create and maintain documentation to identify storage hardware, software configuration, and connectivity.
4. Technical Planning and Procedures: Develop plans for hardware, systems operations, and technical procedures; provide input for disaster recovery and security plans.
5. Storage Activity Management: Plan, install, operate, and maintain storage arrays, switches, HBAs, and other hardware.
6. Capacity Planning and Recommendations: Make recommendations for additional storage resources or hardware as needed.
7. Service Improvement and Customer Satisfaction: Identify and manage storage service improvements to increase customer satisfaction.
8. Escalated Issue Resolution: Respond to and resolve escalated customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
9. Accountability and Prioritization: Maintain accountability for resolving service problems and prioritizing work requests.
10. Project Delivery: Ensure satisfactory delivery of all projects, meeting deadlines and technical requirements.
11. 24x7 On-Call Support: Participate in 24x7 rotation of pager, requiring response within standard timeframes.
12. Occasional Evening and Weekend Work: Perform occasional evening and weekend work as required.

Primary Qualifications:
1. Disaster Recovery and Continuity Planning: Practical knowledge of disaster recovery and continuity planning and testing required.
2. Storage Related Certifications: Preference given to candidates with storage related certifications from SNIA, Brocade, or Dell/EMC.
3. Dell/EMC Midrange Arrays and Storage Management Software: Experience/training required.
4. Storage Virtualization Technology: Experience/training required.
5. Brocade Switches and Directors: Experience/training required.
6. VMware VM Recovery and Related Products: 2+ years of technical experience required.
7. Technical Documentation: Experience writing technical documentation required.
8. Database Server Support: Experience supporting database servers running MS SQL or similar required.

Additional Requirements:
1. Travel: Occasional travel required.
2. On-Call Support: Will carry a pager/phone and will occasionally be on call 24 hours.
